Not afraid to hit the wall
Drink in one hand the handle in the other, I was riding my bike and challenged myself to riding as close to the wall as possible.
I tried and I couldn’t even get close to it.
I knew that if I just grazed the wall, I would crash and the spilled drink would be the least of my worries. I was too afraid of the wall to even get close to it.
Next time, I visualized scraping along the wall, the sound, the forces — crashing into the wall, jumping off and tumbling away. I tightened my grip and tried again with both hands. It wasn’t a smooth ride, but every time i hit the wall I just bounced back.
I wasn’t afraid to crash because I was ready to crash and still walk away in one piece.
Be ready for the worst and you won’t be afraid to try your best.
